২১ শে ফেব্রুয়ারি কি দিবস? কেন আয়োজন করা হয় এই দিবস? 0

আমাদের একটি স্বাধীন জাতি হিসেবে গড়ে উঠার পেছনে কতগুলো খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দিনের অবদান রয়েছে। এই দিনগুলোতে ঘটে যাওয়া ঘটনার থেকেই আমাদের স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রাম বেগ পায় আর এক সময় আমরা স্বাধীনতা পাই। সেই সব দিনগুলোর মধ্যে একটি হলো ২১ ফেব্রুয়ারি। বর্তমানে এই দিনটি জাতীয় শহীদ দিবস এবং আন্তর্জাতিক মাতৃভাষা দিবস হিসেবে পালিত হয়। কিন্তু এই আন্তর্জাতিক মর্যাদার পেছনে রয়েছে ত্যাগের এবং গৌরবের গাথা।

আগের দিনগুলিঃ

১৯৪৭ সালে দেশ বিভাজনের পর দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব এশিয়া তে নতুন দুইটি দেশ এর জন্ম হয়ঃ ভারত এবং পাকিস্তান। বিভাজন হয় মূলত ধর্মের ভিত্তিতে। হিন্দু সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠ দেশ হয় ভারত এবং মুসলিম সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠ দুইটি ভাগ পাকিস্তান হিসেবে এক দেশে পরিণত হয়। পাকিস্তানের দুইটি অংশে ধর্মের মিল থাকলেও অন্যান্য বিষয়ে ছিল অনেক পার্থক্য আর ছিল বৈষম্য। পূর্ব পাকিস্তান ছিল অনেক দিক থেকেই বঞ্চিত ছিল। সামরিক দিক থেকে পূর্ব পাকিস্তানকে পশ্চিমা শাসকরা বঞ্চিত রেখেছিল, সাথে যোগ্য চাকরি থেকেও বঞ্চিত রেখেছিল। অনেক ক্ষেত্রে পশ্চিম পাকিস্তান পূর্ব পাকিস্তানের উপর নির্ভরশীল ছিল। তবে লভ্যাংশ কখনই সঠিকভাবে বন্টন হয় নি। বঞ্চনাও চলতে থাকে।

পশ্চিমা শাসকদের দাম্ভিকতা আরও বাড়তে শুরু করেছিল। ভাষা ও সংস্কৃতি পূর্ব পাকিস্তানে ছিল বাংলা কেন্দ্রিক। আর পশ্চিমাদের মূল ভাষা ছিল উর্দু। কিন্তু ক্ষমতার কেন্দ্রস্থানে হওয়ার কারণে পশ্চিমারা কোনভাবেই বাংলাকে পূর্ব পাকিস্তানের ভাষা হিসেবে মানতে পারছিল না। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রাঙ্গণে পাকিস্তানের কায়েদে আজম – মুহাম্মদ আলি জিন্নাহ ঘোষণা দেন যে “উর্দু এবং একমাত্র উর্দুই হবে একমাত্র স্টেট ল্যাংগুয়েজ পাকিস্তানের।” এতগুলো বৈষম্যের উপর যখন বাঙালির অস্তিত্বের অন্যতম উপাদান, বাংলা ভাষার উপরও যখন আক্রমণ হলো, তখন বাঙালি জনগন আর মেনে নিতে পারলো না।

২১ শে ফেব্রুয়ারিঃ

সেই ঘোষণার পরে বাঙালি জনতা, বিশেষ করে ছাত্রজনতা বিক্ষোভ আর বিদ্রহে ফেটে পরে। “মাগো ওরা মুখের ভাষা কেড়ে নিতে চায়” স্লোগানে ভরে যায় গোটা দেশ। যখন বিক্ষোভের মাত্রা বেড়ে যায়, তখন পশ্চিমা শাসকেরা ১৪৪ ধারা জারি করে। ছাত্রজনতার সাথে সাধারণ জনগনও ১৪৪ ধারা ভেঙে বিক্ষোভে যোগ দেন।

কিন্তু শাসকগোষ্ঠী শান্তিপূর্ণ বিক্ষোভের উপর আক্রমণ চালায়। গুলিবর্ষণ করে সাধারণ জনতার উপর। মারা যায় অনেক সাধারণ নাগরিক। নির্বিচারে হত্যা করে বাঙালিদেরকে। সেই ত্যাগের কারণে শেষ পর্যন্ত বাংলা কে রাষ্ট্রভাষা হিসেবে মানতে বাধ্য হয় পশ্চিমা শাসকেরা।

এই দিনটি যেমন গৌরবের ঠিক তেমনই দুঃখের। অগণিত সাধারণ জনগনের প্রাণ যায়। এটিই বিজয় দিবস এর মুক্তির দিকে প্রথম উল্লেখযোগ্য একটি ধাপ ছিল। এই বিপ্লব থেকেই বাংলার মানুষের মাঝে বিশ্বাস সঞ্চার হয় যে তারা তাদের ন্যায্য পাওনার জন্য সংগ্রাম করতে পারবে। এই স্ফুলিঙ্গ থেকেই একটা সময় স্বাধীনতা দিবস এর জোয়ালা উথলে পড়ে। এখান থেকেই একটি স্বাধীন জাতি হিসেবে নিজেদের প্রতিষ্ঠা করার অনুপ্রেরণা পায় পূর্ব পাকিস্তান ওরফে বাংলাদেশ।

১৬ ডিসেম্বর এর আগের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তারিখ গুলো

১৯৪৭ সালের ১৪ এবং ১৫ আগস্ট যথাক্রমে পাকিস্তান এবং ভারত স্বাধীন রাষ্ট্র হিসেবে জন্মলাভ করে। পাকিস্তান এর দুইটি ভাগ পূর্ব এবং পশ্চিম পাকিস্তান এ বিভক্ত হয়। কিন্তু এই দুই দেশের মাঝে বিশাল ভারত রাষ্ট্র ছিল যার কারণে দুইটি ভাগের মধ্যে যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা কিছুটা বাধাগ্রস্থ হত। এছাড়াও পশ্চিম পাকিস্তান পক্ষপাত এর ভিত্তিতে শাসন করছিল যেখানে পূর্ব পাকিস্তানের অনেক ন্যায্য অধিকার ই ক্ষুন্ন হত। সম্পদের বন্টন, চাকরির অগ্রাধীকার, প্রতিরক্ষা, এবং আরও অনেক মৌলিক বিষয়ে পূর্ব পাকিস্তানের সাথে নানা বৈষম্য করা হত।

প্রথম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তারিখ টি ছিল ১৯৫২ সালের ২১ ফেব্রুয়ারি, যেখানে পূর্ব পাকিস্তানের ভাষা বাংলা হওয়ার ন্যায্য দাবি কে পশ্চিমা শাসক রা প্রত্যাখ্যান করে এবং শান্তিপূর্ণ বিক্ষভের মধ্যে গুলি বর্ষণ করে। অনেক শান্তিকামী বাঙালী নাগরিক প্রাণ বরণ করে। সেখান থেকেই স্বাধীনতার বীজ এর বপন হয়।

রাজনৈতিক দিক দিয়েও পূর্ব পাকিস্তান বঞ্চিত হচ্ছিল। পূর্ব পাকিস্তানের জনপ্রতিনিধি হিসেবে দেশীয় নেতৃত্ব ছিল সময়ের দাবী। কিন্তু পশ্চিমা শাসকগোষ্ঠী কোনভাবেই ক্ষমতা হস্তান্তর করতে রাজী হন নি। জাতির জনক বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবর রহমান এর নেতৃত্বে আওয়ামী এলজি, ১৯৭০ সালের ৭ ডিসেম্বর এর সাধারণ নির্বাচনে সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠতা লাভ করলেও পশ্চিমা শাসক রা ক্ষমতা হস্তান্তর করে নি।

এভাবে ১৯৭১ সালের ২৫ মার্চ সাধারণ বাঙালী জনগণের উপর পাকিস্তানী হানাদার বাহিনী আক্রমণ করে যেখানে অগণিত সাধারণ মানুষ কে নিরীহভাবে হত্যা করা হয়। এই ঘটনার পরে আর পূর্ব পাকিস্তান নামে বাঙালী রা পরিচয় দিতে চায় নি। ২৬ মার্চ স্বাধীনতা ঘোষণার মাধ্যমে বাংলাদেশ হিসেবে নতুন রাষ্ট্রের এক সংগ্রাম শুরু হয়।

১৬ ডিসেম্বর বিজয় দিবস কিভাবে হলো

২৬ মার্চ স্বাধীনতা ঘোষণার পর স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধে সাধারণ জনতা, বাঙালী সামরিক বাহিনী, এবং সর্বস্তরের জনগণ পাকিস্তানী জান্তা দের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধে নেমে পরে। ১১ টি সেক্টরে ভাগ হয় বাংলাদেশ। পাকিস্তানী হানাদার বাহিনী মানুষ হত্যা এবং ধ্বংসযজ্ঞ চালায় সারা দেশে। কিন্তু বাংলাদেশের মুক্তিযোদ্ধারা যুদ্ধ চালিয়ে যায়। এক সময় ভারতীয় মিত্রবাহিনী যুদ্ধে মুক্তিযোদ্ধা দের সাহায্যের জন্য এগিয়ে আসে। কিন্তু প্রায় শেষ মুহুর্তে এসে অনেক বুদ্ধিজীবীদের হত্যা করে পাকিস্তানী হানাদারেরা। কিন্তু এক সময় এসে পাকিস্তানী বাহিনী হাড়ে হাড়ে টের পায় যে বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা ঠেকানো কোনভাবেই সম্ভব নয়।

১৯৭১ সালের ১৬ ই ডিসেম্বর, ৯ মাস রক্তক্ষয়ী যুদ্ধের পর পাকিস্তানী বাহিনী মুক্তিবাহিনী এবং মিত্রবাহিনীর কাছে আত্মসমর্পণ করে। পাকিস্তানী বাহিনীর লেফটেন্যান্ট জেনারেল আমির আবদুল্লাহ খান নিয়াজী, ভারত এবং মুক্তিবাহিনী যৌথবাহিনীর কমান্ডার লেফটেন্যান্ট জেনারেল জাগজিত সিং আরোরার কাছে লিখিত আত্মসমর্পণ করেন। এভাবেই বাংলাদেশী মুক্তিযোদ্ধারা অন্তিম বিজয় পায় মুক্তিযুদ্ধে। আর এইজন্যই এই তারিখ কে বাংলাদেশের জাতীয় বিজয় দিবস বলা হয়। ১৯৭২ সাল থেকে প্রতি বছর এই দিন আমরা উদযাপন করি আর বিজয়ের গৌরব থেকে নিজেদের ব্যক্তিগত জীবনেও অনুপ্রাণিত হই।

বিজয় দিবসের গুরুত্ব

আমাদের দেশের স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রাম আমাদের ব্যক্তিগত, সামাজিক, এবং জাতীয় সর্বস্তরেই অনুপ্রেরণা যোগায়। বিজয় দিবসের ক্ষেত্রে আমরা প্রতি বছর মনে করি আমাদের বীর দের অপরিপূর্ণ ত্যাগ এর কথা। এর সাথে আমরা হাজার প্রতিকূলতা পার করে কিভাবে অধিকারের জন্য সংগ্রাম করতে হয় তাও শেখায়। বাংলাদেশী হিসেবে আমরা যেখানেই থাকি আমরা চেষ্টা করবো মুক্তিযুদ্ধের চেতনা নিজেদের জীবনে জড়িয়ে রাখতে, যেখানেই থাকি যে অবস্থাতেই থাকি আমরা যাতে দেশের প্রয়োজনে যাতে এগিয়ে আসতে পারি, তার জন্য চেষ্টা করে যাবো।
