Ramadan Dinner Ideas to Stay Healthy & Fit

1. Rice Dishes

Rice dishes like pulao and biryani are a great way to combine protein, carbs, and essential veggies without having to put multiple dishes on the table. You can minimize the amount of cooking oil you use and increase the amount of protein or vegetables based on your preference.

Pair your rice with a refreshing mint or tamarind chutney and some raita and you’ve got a flavorful meal that isn’t heavy on your stomach and relatively easy to digest.

If you want to take a non-desi route with your rice, you could always experiment with vegetable, egg, or chicken fried rice and pair it with some lightly grilled chicken and veggies or even your favorite Chinese dishes. Just make sure to swap out grilling the chicken instead of frying it!

2. Noodles and Pasta

Noodles have a similar advantage to rice dishes. You can add your protein and vegetables all in one pan and not have to worry about the hassle of curries and individual ruti or paratha.

The trick to making sure your noodles and pasta are light enough to not give you a sickly heaviness is to stay away from creamy, white sauce-based pasta. Use cheese and salt scarcely as it may cause thirstiness and be generous with the vegetables and protein you are adding to provide nourishment.

Some of our favorite pasta noodle dishes are spaghetti and meatballs, macaroni and qeema, and chicken, or veggie chow mein.

How to Survive Ramadan During This Heated Summer?

3. Kebabs

We strongly believe you should have a batch of kebabs in the fridge at all times. Not only are they great to beat random hunger pangs, but you can also always throw them in a sandwich with your favorite toppings, eat them alongside some roasted or boiled veggies, or with a nice hearty paratha.

4. Sandwiches

Finally, an evergreen winner when it comes to Ramadan dinner ideas is a nice, tasteful sandwich. The best thing about this is that you can make it as heavy or light as you want.

Some of our favorite ideas are egg salad sandwiches, chicken club sandwiches, pulled chicken or pulled beef sandwiches with coleslaw, tikka chunks and cheese sandwich, grilled cheese and tomato sandwiches, kebab sandwiches, roasted veggie sandwiches, eggs, and sausage breakfast sandwiches.

How to Survive Ramadan During This Heated Summer 2023?

Ramadan is but a few days away and the summer will be at its very peak. This time, the summer is said to be worse than ever. With temperatures going up to 42 to 45 degrees in certain parts of the country, we need to be extra careful when it comes to self-care.

BD Ramadan Calendar 2023 – Sehri & Iftar Time Today in Bangladesh

5 Tips to survive through the excessive heat of the summer

1. Get lots of water in your system

Staying hydrated is the key to surviving the summer, but this can become tricky during Ramadan. While you can’t drink anything during the hottest hours of the day, you can pace the amount of drinking water that goes into your system.

2. Stay indoors

With work and home, we spend most of our day indoors anyway but a lot of us find ourselves under the sweltering sun for one reason or another. Try and avoid these instances as much as possible, but don’t shy away from looking for shade if you can’t. Get sunscreen cream or even an umbrella to block out the sun as much as possible.

3. Eat lots of water-based fruits

It’s the season for watermelons during this Ramadan. And if you have trouble eating fruits, you can always have fruit juice then instead. Besides, there is always an ideal choice of green coconut to get day-long energy. So don’t feel guilty when it comes to consuming fruits. The natural sugar will give you loads of energy and the water content will keep you refreshed.

4. Stay away from deep-fried oily foods

Though it’s hard enough to avoid fried fruits, the truth is that having fried foods every day for 30 days can never be good for your system. These oily foods will slow you down sucking all the energy during Ramadan which you will badly need.

5. Don’t Skip Sehri

It’s pretty much usual that some fasting people prefer a heavy dinner and like to skip Sehri. While it may be tempting to choose an extra hour of sleep over Sehri, skipping it increases the hours between meals and by the time you reach iftar, your body will have exhausted its resources. So, it’s the wise decision to take a light dinner for the sake of a heavy dinner meal to survive till iftar.

When is Laylatul Qadr 2023 in Bangladesh (Shab e Qadar 2023)

Find When is Laylatul Qadr 2023 in Bangladesh? Discover the Expected Shab e Qadr 2023 Date in Bangladesh. Check when is Shab e Qadr 2023 in Bangladesh in Islamic Calendar 2023.

Layla-tul-Qadr or Shab e Qadr in Bangladesh is considered the holiest night in Islam. Layla-tul-Qadr is also known Shab-e-Qadr, which states as the greatest night of a thousand years. Shab e Qadr is celebrated with the highest spiritual manner and respect by Muslims all over the world as this night is believed to hold a lot of power where Muslims worship the whole night of Laylatul Qadr to seek Allah’s mercy and blessings in abundance.

BD Ramadan Calendar 2023 – Sehri & Iftar Time Today

The last ten days of Ramadan, especially the odd nights of Ramadan, are considered to hold a lot of power as it is believed that Laylatul Qadr, or the Night of Decree, also falls on one of the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan. Holy Al-Qur’an was revealed from the Al-Lawh Al-Mahfooz to the first sky at the Laylat ul Qadr night. It is also observed that Layla-tul-Qadr is the night Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) received the first verses of the Qu’ran as well.

What day is Laylatul Qadr 2023?

It is believed that Laylatul Qadr falls during the last Ashra of Ramzan during the odd night, also called Shobe Kodorer Rat, in Bangladesh, and Laylatul Qadr is usually observed on the 27th of Ramadan. However, the exact night on which Laylatul-Qadr occurs has not been mentioned, as the Prophet Muhammad said, “Search for Laylatul-Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten nights of Ramadan.”

When is Laylatul Qadr 2023 in Bangladesh?

Shab e Qadr or Laylat al-Qadr 2023 in Bangladesh will be observed on the night of Wednesday, April 19, 2023, and on the 27th day of Ramadan, 1444 AH, according to the Islamic calendar 2023.

Can you Sleep on Laylatul Qadr?

On Shab e Qadr, it is considered that Allah makes a decision and rights the fate of all human beings on this Night and according to renowned early Islamic scholars Al-Hasan Al-Basri (d. 110 H), Mujahid (d. 104 H), and Qatadah (d. 117 H) have reported having mentioned that “all the affairs of lifespan, deeds, creation, and provision are decreed on Laylatul-Qadr in the month of Ramadan and will come to pass in the coming year” which makes the night of Shab e Miraj a night where Muslims stay up to worship and seek forgiveness.

What is Special About Laylatul Qadr?

Layla tul Qadr is also considered a gift to the Muslim ummah as it is noted that any small good deed done is counted 1000 times more on this night, and no other day or night is emphasized more in the Quran than Shab-e-Qadr or Laulatul Qadr. In the Quran, the 97th chapter is dedicated entirely to this night:

Indeed, We revealed [the Qur’an] during the Night of Decree. And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn. (97:1-5)

What do you Read on Shab e Qadar?

There are many ways you can worship and repent on the night of Shab e Qadr or Pray on Laylatul Qadr. You can offer Salat-ul-Tasbeeh, offer Nafil prayers, and recite Durood and the Quran wholeheartedly during the night to get the most blessings. More importantly, you can pray and make dua on this night in abundance.

Shab e Qadr Dua – What Dua to Make on Layla-tul-Qadr?

If you’re looking for what dua to make on Shab-e-Qadar night or looking for Lailatul Qadr dua, then you can recite the following Dua that is important for Shab e-Qadr:

Ų„Ų„ŲŽŲ‘Ų‡ŲŲ…ŲŽŲ‘ ØĨŲŲ†ŲŽŲ‘ŲƒŲŽ ØšŲŽŲŲŲˆŲŒŲ‘ ŲƒŲŽØąŲŲŠŲ…ŲŒ ØĒŲØŲØ¨ŲŲ‘ اŲ„Ų’ØšŲŽŲŲ’ŲˆŲŽ ŲŲŽØ§ØšŲ’ŲŲ ØšŲŽŲ†ŲŲ‘ŲŠ
Allahumma innaka Afuwwun [Karimun] tuhibbul `afwa fa`fu `annee
O Allah, indeed You are Pardoning, [Generous,] You love pardon, so pardon me.

Why is the 27th Day of Ramadan so Important?

The 27th of Ramadan is important as many Muslims believe that Laylatul Qadr or Shab e Qadr occurs on the 27th of Ramazan through our Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM) advised his ummah to search for this greatest night among the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan.

“Whoever establishes the prayers on the night of qadr out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards (not to show off) then ALL his past sins will be forgiven” -Sahih Bukhari. The same reward is for those who fast sincerely too.

What are the signs of Laylatul Qadr?

According to the Quran, Layla-tul-Qadr or Shab e Qadr is considered the best than a thousand nights to worship, and here are some of the signs on how to identify the Night of Decree or Laila tul Qadr.

“Salamun hiya hatta matla il-fajr” – That Night is peace, until the rising of the dawn. (Surah Qadr 97:5) The night of Laylatul Qadr is peaceful and quiet. You do not hear the barking of dogs, donkeys don’t bray or the sound of the cockerel. The entire Night, from evening till morning, is peace, free from every evil and mischief.

The sun at sunrise would appear reddish and without its normal blazing and sharp rays. Whosoever offers voluntary prayers during the Night of Power out of belief and expecting from Allah its reward will have his past sins forgiven.” – (Bukhari and Muslim)

Rain may fall either during the night or during the day of that night.- there is rain. This is one of the signs of Laylatul Qadr. – Soft or gentle rain.

Ibn Khuzaymah said that “it is a night that is neither hot nor cold.”

Laylatul Qadr Meaning in English?

Layla-tul- Qadr or Shab e Qadr in English is also called the Night of Decree Ramadan, The Night of Power, The Night of Value, The Night of Destiny, The Night of Determination, or The Precious Night and is considered better than a thousand months for the worship of Allah.

Things You Shouldn’t Do in Ramadan to Keep Your Energy Up!

As the most blessed time of the year approaches, we can already feel the excitement around us!

Ramadan for Muslims is a month full of spiritual awakening that brings us all closer. From the early hours of Sehri and till the hustle and bustle in the wee minutes before Iftari, it is something that always makes us smile later on!

With Ramadan, our schedules and lifestyle see a drastic change, and adjusting to it takes time. Most people don’t know it, but, they tend to follow certain habits that make them feel tired and low on energy throughout the month!

BD Ramadan Calendar 2023 – Sehri & Iftar Time Today

If you’re one of those people or know someone who goes through the Fasting blues, then you could be making some mistakes that make you feel low. Here’s what you should do to make sure you stay energized throughout the day while Fasting!

1) Avoid taking too much caffeine in Sehri!

It might be true that caffeine is the ultimate source of energy for some, but, when you’re fasting for the whole day ahead, the caffeine crash is likely to affect you!

When the coffee or the chai effect wears offs, our bodies tend to feel tired as it creates a need for dependency. It can also cause you to feel jittery and feel thirsty more. So, avoid taking your strong dose of Chai and Coffee in Sehri every day!

2) Sleep well and on time!

While many of us currently have a messed up routine, (thank you lockdown), it is no surprise that most of us would be up till Sehri time and sleep after it is past noon. This is the perfect recipe to feel lethargic and tired throughout the day!

So, make sure you’re tucked in bed and have nice, quality sleep.

Take a look: 4 Light Ramadan Dinner Ideas to Stay Fit!

3) In Sehri, eat foods that keep you hydrated!

Even though we all love spicy and flavourful food, it is better to avoid spicy and salty foods and instead has fresh fruits, whole wheat foods, yogurt, and vegetables in your diet. This will make us feel fuller for longer and keep us from feeling tired quick.

4) Going overboard with Water/Juice during Iftari!

Remember how you once almost fell asleep during the Maghrib prayer? We’ve all been there. Water might seem like a blessing during Iftari but going overboard with it at the sound of the Maghrib azan is a terrible way to feel sick and dizzy after iftar.

Take it in moderate amounts and having that chai or coffee post-Iftari is the perfect way to feel active.

>> 6 Productive and Fun Ways to Kill Your Boredom! <<

5) Power Naps are always a good idea!

A power nap has never hurt anyone (unless you’re a driver). If you’re tired or feel like the fatigue is getting to you, a power nap is definitely a great way to kick back into feeling fresh and energetic again!

6) Being too idle makes you lethargic

If you’re one of those people that avoid doing too much work in the month of Ramadan so you feel less tired, well, we hate to break this up. According to research, the idler you are while fasting, the hungrier you might get soon. Of course, this is why when you’re bored your first instinct is to eat. So, make sure you keep yourself distracted!

7) Incorporate nuts and dried fruits in your diet!

Instead of consuming oily and fried snacks, opt for a more healthy diet. Dry fruits and nuts are blessings in disguise! Nuts such as almonds, walnuts, raisins, and most importantly, dates are full of vitamins and minerals that you would need to feel energetic throughout the day!

Are you ready to boost those energy levels and be at your best this Ramadan?
