We, at Daraz Life, want to help make this transition as smooth and safe as possible. So, here are some tips and suggestions that you should find useful:

1) Don’t Forget Your Face Mask
It’s important to remember that the pandemic is NOT over yet. It’s still going on and safety is still important. Hence, it’s crucial that you wear a face mask to work and that you keep it on all the while you’re there. This will not only keep you safe but will also protect others from any potential harm from you!

2) Maintain Social Distance
You’ve probably heard enough of this, but to be honest, we can’t say this enough – maintain distance! No matter how sure you are that the other person is Covid-negative, caution is still important. Your precaution will play a bigger role in the bigger picture of minimizing the local transmission!

3) Improve Ventilation
There’s a simple way you can improve ventilation at work – open doors and windows. Closed doors keep the same air in the room, thus accumulating dust, dirt and germs. Keeping them open will allow the air to pass and move around, carrying away any viral particles.

4) Don’t Use the Washroom Right After Someone
You don’t want to go to the bathroom immediately after someone used it. It’s better to wait for a bit and then go. Also keep the exhaust fan running and put down the lid before flushing the toilet. These are all safety measures that can help contain the spread.

5) Feel Personal Responsibility
If you, or anyone you’ve met or anyone around you, has been sick or is feeling sick – don’t go to the office. God willing, you’ll be fine but this is so important for everyone’s safety. We all need to feel the personal responsibility of each other’s safety. One careless move by a sick person can jeopardize the safety of everyone else.

A little self-care and dedication can be your savior. To get that healthy and shiny lock of hair, simply follow these tips below for at least 8 weeks and see the difference!

Follow these hair fall solutions and tips to reduce excessively!

1. Regularly Massage Your Scalp with Essential Oils

Essential oils do wonder in keeping your hair healthy. Essential oils such as Almond oil and Lavender oil helps in fighting hair fall and hair problems such as dandruff. Just make sure you dilute essential oils or mix them with carrier oils for a great result!

2. Wash Your Hair Frequently

You must have heard that washing your hair daily makes them weak and brittle but that’s a myth! Not washing your hair regularly causes oil to accumulate and buildup on the scalp which can cause dandruff and bacteria to form which can damage the hair and even impede the ability to grow.

3. Make a Habit of Taking Vitamins

In this busy lifestyle, we often rely on fast food or have a poor diet. Since having a healthy diet is highly important to maintain the health of your skin and hair, you can make up for those by taking vitamins. Vitamin A, Biotin, Zinc, and B Vitamins are great to give life to your hair and skin.

4. Have a Diet Enriched with Protein and B12

Of course, consuming these naturally is much better so we recommend taking time out and planning your meals. Protein and B12 nutrients are super important to improve the health of your nerves and maintain your red blood cell production. If you feel your hair lack shine and are dry and brittle, you could be low on protein and B12. Try to have foods that are rich in protein and b-12 such as lean meat, fish, spinach and eggs.

5. Avoid Brushing Wet Hair

Even though the urge is strong to brush your hair while it’s still wet and easily detangle it, but, it is terrible for your hair! Your hair is the weakest when they’re wet and tugging and brushing them after a shower causes them to break easily from the roots and cause split ends.

6. Use Onion Juice or Ginger Juice for Hair Growth and Shine

Another way to help your hair grow and give it more volume is by following home remedies! And using onion juice and ginger juice is an excellent way of getting those luscious locks. Onion and ginger juice is rich in antioxidants which help in improving blood circulation and strengthen the hair follicles making it a great way to keep your hair from falling.

7. Trim Hair After Every 2/3 Months

If you style your hair too much or dye them then this one is important for you to follow. Not trimming your hair can cause split ends and brittle ends. No matter how much you want to grow your hair, trimming is important to keep your hair from tangling and breaking.

8. Deep Condition at least Once a Month

With the harsh environment and the scorching sun, our hair loses the moisture that keeps it shiny and gives it a soft and silky feel. Which is why to give life to your hair, make sure you deep conditioning your hair once a month. You can either do this at home using an egg and oil mask or get it done from a professional.

9. Oil Your Hair Overnight Weekly

Oh yes, all the times our grandmothers were after us to oil our hair, we know it’s worth now! Oiling your hair stimulates hair growth, nourishes it, and keeps it healthy. Oils such as mustard oil, amla oil, olive oil and or coconut oil are classics for hair growth. You can even mix them and keep it overnight to make sure your hair gets nourished properly!

10. Use a Sulfate-Free Shampoo

Sulfate or SLS is a major ingredient in shampoos which causes the lather and bubbles to form in the shampoo. However, this chemical rips off the natural oils from your scalp and make them dry and frizzy, especially, if you don’t use a hair conditioner indeed. So, if you’re experiencing a lot of hair fall, switch to a sulfate-free shampoo.

11. Stay Hydrated

Now last but not the least, stay hydrated! Not having enough water intake is the main reason why your skin and hair feel dull and dry. Make sure you drink a minimum of 8 to 9 glasses of water and keep your fluid intake high to stay healthy!

Hygiene Practices to Keep Yourself Healthy

The first step to fighting any virus is to ensure your overall health and hygiene are in good shape. You know what they say, prevention is better than cure! Here are a few tips to prevent any unwanted germs sneaking their way into your system!

Wash Your Hands Frequently

Washing your hands before and after every small task can help you keep all the bacteria and viruses at bay so after going to the bathroom, after coughing or sneezing, after coming back home from somewhere, after playing outside, before preparing food and after you’re done, make sure you wash your hands. Washing hands is probably the most important thing that contributes to personal hygiene.

Always Carry Hand Sanitizer

While washing hands is very important, there can be times when you’re outside and cannot wash hands immediately or do not have water to do so. For such cases, always carry a sanitizer with yourself. This will help you keep your hands cleans and quickly reduce the number of germs and bacteria that your hands came in contact with.

Use a Tissue Paper or Mask While Sneezing or Coughing

Wear a mask to protect yourself and those around you from germ particles that can get in your system. Alternatively, whenever you sneeze or cough, make sure you use a tissue paper and throw it right after using it. In case you do not have one, sneeze on your elbow and wash your hands right after to avoid germs from spreading to those around you.

Avoid Touching Your Face

The more you touch your face, the higher risk you carry for transferring harmful germs to your system. Try to refrain from idly touching your face, especially your nose, mouth, and eyes. If you absolutely have to – make sure you’ve sanitized or washed your hands properly.

Incorporate Vitamin C into Your Diet

Vitamin C is a very powerful anti-oxidant that does not only increase your immune system but also protects your body from any chronic disease or damage. So, make sure you take Vitamin-C daily either in the form of fruits or vegetables or in the form of supplements.

Social Distancing

It is always safer to maintain a social distance between yourself and people who are sick. Try avoiding direct contact like shaking hands, hugging, eating or drinking for the same utensils. If you don’t feel well, stay home unless its absolutely necessary. If you must step out, take precautions like wearing a mask, carrying a hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes, and making sure you aren’t in close contact with anyone.

What to Do if You Notice Symptoms

If you start to feel feverish, have a persistent dry cough, or any trouble breathing make sure you start wearing a mask to protect those around you and get in touch with a healthcare professional immediately. They will then be able to judge what course of action you should take.

How to Work on Child Learning Disability

What is Learning Disability?

Learning Disability is a lifelong neurological condition where a child or an adult experiences difficulties primarily in reading, writing, comprehension and mathematical problem solving. There are other associated difficulties such as: behavioral problem, organization, planning and memory that affect a child’s or adults functional life.

Generally, children with LD are more intelligent than their peer group. Their learning brain does not follow the linear steps of learning. Usually people learn step by step and then create a whole picture of the learning content. On the other hand, a child with LD understands the whole concept first and then discovers the small learning components. As a result it is tricky for parents and teachers to understand the difficulties or conditions that are hindering the learning process of the child. This is the reason why it is called Hidden Disability. In most of the cases when their academic scores deteriorate significantly, the teachers inform parents. In the case of adults, they somehow manage to scuffle across the academic ocean but end up struggling in their personal and professional life, as they are not equipped to cope up with the real world.

-I suspect that my child has some form of learning disability, how do I identify them and where do I go?

How should the teacher tend to my child?

Teachers are one of the most important people in Learning Disability Management of a child. First of all they need to observe the child’s learning behavior carefully, focusing on the specific difficulties in reading, writing and mathematical problem solving.

Secondly, they need to collect preceding learning history of the child, developmental history and behavioral history from previous teachers and parents. Learning Disability symptoms manifest at an early age and coexist with other developmental and behavioral conditions. After all the information has been collected, the child can be referred to a specialist such as a Psychiatrist, Psychologist or Special Educator specialized in Learning Disability for clinical diagnosis of the condition.

Finally, they can consult or hire an external support for remedial program for the specific child. Children with Learning Disability can be easily accommodated in mainstream schools provided they have access to Specific Learning Support.

Do I disclose this to my child’s teacher?

The answer is YES! You must share it with the school authority and the existing teaching team. Awareness is the firs step of management. This information and sharing will create awareness among teachers to learn more about your child and the condition. In most of the cases parents suffer from a stigma that if they disclose the condition, the school will not accommodate their children or they will be excluded from their regular schooling system. But the fact is denial and ignorance will never bring a solution or add anything positive in this condition rather increase the intensity of struggle for them. The best management strategy and the first step of this system is to create a strong and healthy network around your child to protect his/her self-esteem and confidence.

Do I have to find another school or a specialized school?

Generally, children with LD have shown average or above average intelligence in IQ tests. In some cases they understand a concept faster and better than their peer group but fail to express that in conventional manner. A regular school is preferred for them with specialized teaching team in Learning Disability Management. The school can hire a learning disability consultant or a learning support teacher for the child with LD. With the help of differentiated teaching strategies, the child can reach desired goals.

Do I have to control my child’s diet?

There is no research evidence regarding any association with diet and learning disability. Consequently, no suggestion can be made in this matter.

How do I tend to my child’s learning?

It is paramount for parents to learn about their child’s learning style, strengths and weaknesses. Then focus can be on the skills they are struggling with. And finally, consult a professional Special Educator or Teacher trained in Learning Disability Management for intervention without wasting your child’s precious time.
