The first season of BPL began in February of 2012. The League follows a round-robin system, followed by playoffs consisting of four matches: two qualifiers, one eliminator, and the final. In the six seasons of the Bangladesh Premier League, three different winners have emerged.

Dhaka Stars had the most BPL titles with three, including two straight victories as Dhaka Gladiators during the first two seasons of the league. The Comilla Victorians are the BPL’s second-highest winners (2 times). The only other teams to be declared champions are Rangpur Riders and Rajshahi Royals. Rajshahi Royals are the current champions, having defeated Khulna Tigers in the BPL Season 7 final.
