The first season of BPL began in February 2012. The League follows a round-robin system, followed by playoffs consisting of four matches: two qualifiers, one eliminator, and the final.
Dhaka Stars and Comilla Victorians had the most BPL titles with four, including two straight victories as Dhaka Gladiators during the first two seasons of the league. The only other teams to be declared champions are Rangpur Riders and Rajshahi Royals. Comilla Victorians are the current champions, having defeated Sylhet Strickers in the BPL Season 9 final.
